Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello has once again served as a hub for artists to gather, exchange ideas, and draw inspiration and CONTEMPORARY VENICE provided a platform for artists to explore the beauty of the Renaissance era while engaging with contemporary themes, sparking creativity and dialogue. Among them, Monika Chabicovsky‘s photographic artistry navigates the border space where reality intertwines with fiction. Rooted in Vienna, Paris, and a Swiss village, her work captures the essence of the MIXING IDENTITIES theme: her work embarks on an odyssey into the depths of identity and the veils we wear, employing self-portraiture as a universal canvas. Through a synthesis of reason and emotion, science and creativity, her imagery prompts introspection, urging viewers to confront their complexities and illuminating the ever-shifting line between truth and illusion.

Hailing from Lithuania, also the artist Aima Sodonienė crafts profound reflections on the human condition through her acrylic canvases. Delving into the depths of choice and consequence, she juxtaposes the ethereal elements of air and water, meditating on the impact on body, mind, and environment: her art serves as a beacon of introspection, and weaving a tapestry of unseen worlds and subtle energies. With each stroke, Aima invites viewers on a self-discovery experience, urging them to navigate the vastity of existence with mindfulness and purpose. In the same vein, Halena Cline‘s artistic engagement unveils the hidden layers of our multifaceted selves within the immersive realm of consciousness. Her oeuvre spans mediums, seamlessly melding experimental techniques with traditional forms, enriched by global influences gathered from travels and cultural immersion, offering a nuanced exploration of identity a tapestry of societal and personal history.

Inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a realm where dance becomes a symphony for the eyes and music becomes a choreography for the ears, the Interdisciplinary Duo Garzotto-Rožnik Novak, enriched the exhibition with their performance that enveloped the audience in a multisensory journey. Their creations blur the lines between sound and movement, inviting spectators to immerse themselves into a space of exploration, where the senses converge and every moment is a harmonious fusion of the tangible and the ethereal.

The FUTURE LANDSCAPES theme was fully examined in Rıfat Baltaoğlu‘s work: drawing from his architectural background, seamlessly merges form and concept in his paintings, inviting viewers to explore the intersection of art, architecture, and environmental consciousness. His use of discarded materials speaks to themes of rebirth and sustainability, echoing the abstract and infinite nature of future landscapes. Similarly, Mina‘s vivid canvases capture the essence of Venetian allure, infusing her works with a sense of timelessness and cultural richness. Through her portrayal of iconic Venetian scenes, she invites viewers to immerse themselves in the abstract and conceptual landscapes of the mind, evoking a sense of freedom and infinite extension. In her depiction of Venetian sunsets and gondolas navigating the canals, Mina bridges the gap between reality and imagination, redefining the borders between body, mind, and soul.

OUR LOCATION

palazzoalbrizzicapello 001 1

Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello is one of the most known palaces of the Renaissance in Venice. It is a historical building dating back to the 16th century, and it has been owned by several noble Venetian families, as demonstrated by the frescoed ceilings, the artistic stuccos and the fine furniture that enriches its rooms. The Palace welcomes visitors with its beautiful private garden on the ground floor, and then it gathers the guests in its large first-floor salons, in which past and present dialogue together. The restored Old Masters’ frescoes and the contemporary art masterpieces that are periodically shown in the exhibitions hosted here, make Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello the perfect location for the balance between old and new, between ancient environment and contemporary art, architecture and design.

Today the building is managed by ACIT Venice – the Italian-German Cultural Association – which is considered one of the most important intercultural associations in Europe. Thanks to the ACIT unceasing cultural activity, Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello has nowadays frequent collaborations with the Goethe Institute and with other local and international institutions, maintaining its ancient reputation. Because of these relations, it presents a huge program of memorable art exhibitions, conferences, congresses and concerts. Among the last institutional exhibitions, is its participation in the 58th Venice Biennale with the Guatemala pavilion, the Dominican Republic pavilion and the Grenada pavilion. ITSLIQUID Group already had the pleasure to hold some festivals and exhibitions in Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, such as MORPHOS Festival and FUTURE IDENTITIES Festival, both in 2014.
