A celebration of historical queer artists’ exploration of gender performance by London and New York City-based photographer Austn Fischer. The project draws inspiration from Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, who challenged gender norms through provocative self-portraits. Embracing the concept of “gender performance” by Judith Butler, “Jesters Gender Game” highlights the idea that gender is a socially constructed performance shaped by cultural expectations.
