“Blast Of Light” acrylic, 24″ x 36″
For as long as I can remember, painting has been my truest form of expression. It is a visual journal that captures the way I experience the world, both inside and out.
“Greece Canal Park” acrylic, 30″ x 40″
My journey as an artist began in 1989, studying under a local artist in rural New York. Since then it has taken me across continents and through decades of continual exploration. Each chapter of my life, from the rolling fields of my family’s dairy farm to the mountains of the Berkshires and the vibrant landscapes of England and Italy, has left its mark on my creative path.
“Red Landscape” acrylic, 24″ x 20″
Nature is my greatest teacher and muse. Being present in wild places grounds me. It offers moments of beauty, spirituality, and connection that I strive to translate onto the canvas. My paintings are not just representations of the external world. They are invitations to pause, reflect, and engage with the deeper stories that reside beneath the surface. I use my own photographs as a starting point. Intuition and memory guide my hand, allowing each piece to evolve organically.
“Kaleidoscope Heart” acrylic, 30″ x 15″
Over more than 30 years, I have challenged myself to experiment with a range of styles and techniques, from realism to abstraction, impressionism to surrealism. This continual exploration keeps my practice vibrant and alive.
“Dazzling Sunset” acrylic, 30″ x 15″
I am drawn to bold, expressive color, dynamic movement, and textured brushwork, all of which help me capture fleeting moments and emotional undercurrents. Whether I am painting a tranquil river at sunset or an abstract vision of transformation, my goal is always to evoke a sense of wonder and connection in the viewer.
“Tempisque River, Costa Rica” acrylic, 30″ x 15″
Ultimately, I believe that art is a bridge—between imagination and reality, between artist and audience, and between the personal and the universal. Through my work, I hope to spark conversation, encourage reflection, and inspire others to see the beauty and complexity in every moment.
“Painterly Sunset” acrylic, 24″ x 36″
Over the past year, my artwork has emerged from photographs I have taken in diverse locations. I have consistently utilized them as sources for my painting. I’ve incorporated basic computer image editing into my photographs to create surreal landscapes.
“Moon Gazing” acrylic, 20″ x 24″
I strive to evoke an emotional connection to the essence of place and to elicit a deeper understanding of the experience. Also, to question the visual context of the paintings. Through use of shadow, light, texture and color, I create a surreal landscape that is familiar to the viewer, yet there are contrasts in its composition.
“Winter Dreamscape” acrylic,15″ x 30″
My current artistic approach has evolved from past studies in computer imaging undertaken during my time at the Alfred University School of Art and Design in 1995. It is also rooted in my foundational works depicting nature, which I have pursued throughout the years.
