“Calm Waters” oil, 36″ x 36″
I paint contemporary oil landscapes that reflect life’s journey rather than specific places. While my work is rooted in classical structure, what I am truly creating is a visual reflection of perseverance, clarity, and quiet strength. The paths, water, distant horizons, and expansive skies in my paintings are symbols—metaphors for movement through challenge and toward hope.
“Rain Comes to the Plateau, oil, 36″ x 36”
My foundation comes from more than twenty years of study with four European Masters and two nationally recognized American landscape artists. That classical training gave me discipline, structure, and respect for craftsmanship. Over time, however, my work evolved beyond representation. I became less interested in capturing a location and more interested in capturing an experience—the emotional terrain we all travel.
“Gratitude” oil, 12″ x 24″
My process is layered and deeply intentional. I build each painting through multiple layers of oil, allowing depth to develop gradually. I use a sgraffito-inspired technique, strategically removing paint to reveal underlying color. That act of subtraction is important to me, as it mirrors life itself—how meaning and beauty are often revealed through what we endure.
“When Heaven Freezes Over” oil, 12″ x 24″
Just as we’re shaped by what we’ve lived through, the painting is shaped by its own becoming. And once it leaves my studio, it begins to hold and reflect the collector’s experiences as well. It becomes part of their environment during meaningful seasons—stressful periods, transitions, celebrations, quiet evenings. Over time, it gathers both association and significance. The depth you see isn’t just visual—it’s built from process, intention, and time.
“Worth the Journey” oil, 36″ x 36″
My inspiration is deeply personal. Having navigated serious health challenges and seasons that required resilience and courage when I was young, I understand what it means to move forward without always seeing the full path ahead. That lived experience informs my imagery. I don’t paint hardship directly; instead, I paint what lies beyond it—calm after turbulence, light breaking through distance, space to breathe again.
“It is Well with My Soul” oil, 6″ x 12″
Collectors often tell me they see their own stories reflected in my work. That connection matters to me more than any single aesthetic quality. My paintings are meant to be lived with. They are not loud statements; they are steady presences. Over time, as life unfolds, they gather deeper meaning. What someone sees in the work at the beginning often shifts years later. That evolution is intentional.
“Path Through the Storm” oil, 20″ x 36″
My goal is not simply to create beautiful paintings. Its to create work that carries emotional intelligence—imagery that anchors a space and offers clarity in both professional and personal environments. I want my collectors to feel grounded when they encounter my paintings. To pause. To exhale.
“A Country Song” oil, 36″ x 36″
Each piece is created to age well—materially, visually, and emotionally. Through restraint and depth, I aim for permanence and relevance. Ultimately, I paint from my own lived experience, knowing that those who collect my work see their own journey reflected within it. They, like me, value depth, intention, and lasting presence while recognizing that art can quietly shape the atmosphere of a room and the rhythm of a life.
