Human creativity always spreads all over the world. For thousands of years, we have applied our imagination and inventiveness to shape our landscapes. Cities are leading to a new aesthetic change that aims to rebalance the combination of humans and nature, not only to restore natural systems and ecological integrity but also to deliver beautiful, engaging and remarkable landscape experiences. Today we face many challenges that require a big effort in mixing new frontiers to create new extraordinary places and spaces. We aim to generate future landscapes without mental and physical borders, in which the human being is completely free.

We invited all the artists to immerse themselves in a multisensory exploration and to share their personal artistic research through any kind of media, from painting to sculptures and installation, from photography to video art and live performance.

The dedication to reshaping a world where humans redefine their living environment is the focal point of Isabella Astengo‘s artistic journey. Deeply rooted in a profound love for nature, evident in her captivating sculptures, her creations represent a testament to her meticulous study of individual elements, whether precious stones or organic structures honor their primary shapes, light, and movement. In alignment with this vision, the artist Guy Pollet presented his works made of the transformative medium of Irish Bog Oak: crafting unique sculptures, he employs a meticulous process, combining the natural black color of the oak with granite, marble, and various materials for Land Art. His profound love for animals and nature unveils a world populated by fantastic beasts and stylized anthropomorphic forms, inviting diverse interpretations shaped by individual perspectives and sensitivities.

The exhibition was enriched by the enchanting performance of Aliki Markantonatou, a rare talent in the modern musical landscape. Her unique approach to playing the Ancient Greek Lyre, involving a deep study of ancient musical fragments, resulted in a distinctive and personal style. By infusing the exhibition space with a magical ambience, her performance contributed to the immersive experience, inviting visitors to transcend the present and connect with the timeless aspects of human expression. Similarly, Spyros Domazakis intricately wove ancient Greek themes into his artworks: infusing classical elements with moral choices into his creative narrative, Domazakis adds a contemporary perspective to ancient stories, bridging the gap between the past and the present and echoing his artistic pursuit of capturing dynamic beauty.

Focusing on the importance of individuals in shaping FUTURE LANDSCAPES, Andrea Kurtz emerges as an artist whose work delves into the profound essence of the individual experience, encapsulating a spectrum of emotions, fears, and desires. The recurring motifs of face and mask in her creations serve as powerful symbols representing both conscious and unconscious emotions, moulding identities through expressions like arrogance, anger, and devotion. Kurtz’s evolution from traditional canvases to sculptural forms expands her artistic vision into a multidimensional realm where emotions are not merely observed but also touched and heard, transforming the observers from passive spectators into active participants.

The beautiful Palazzo Albrizzi Capello contributed to a significant cultural climate that acted as a muse, inspiring artists to channel their creativity towards innovative expressions. Among the artworks showcased in the palace, Julia Kravchuk‘s abstract expressionist painting delved into the intricacies of the human mental state, employing exaggeration and primitivism to convey a unique perspective on the representation of the body. Her project explores the profound concept of self-perception through the eyes of an artist, revealing hidden stories beneath the surface. With a rich artistic journey, the Venetian artist Cristiano Cavedon presented his painting infusing spaces with class, elegance, and vibrancy through the transformative power of color, embodying once again his overarching goal: to evoke emotions, inspire wonder, and provoke reflections in those who engage with his creations.

OUR LOCATION

palazzoalbrizzicapello 001 1

Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello is one of the most known palaces of the Renaissance in Venice. It is a historical building dating back to the 16th century, and it has been owned by several noble Venetian families, as demonstrated by the frescoed ceilings, the artistic stuccos and the fine furniture that enriches its rooms. The Palace welcomes visitors with its beautiful private garden on the ground floor, and then it gathers the guests in its large first-floor salons, in which past and present dialogue together. The restored Old Masters’ frescoes and the contemporary art masterpieces that are periodically shown in the exhibitions hosted here, make Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello the perfect location for the balance between old and new, between ancient environment and contemporary art, architecture and design.

Today the building is managed by ACIT Venice – the Italian-German Cultural Association – which is considered one of the most important intercultural associations in Europe. Thanks to the ACIT unceasing cultural activity, Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello has nowadays frequent collaborations with the Goethe Institute and with other local and international institutions, maintaining its ancient reputation. Because of these relations, it presents a huge program of memorable art exhibitions, conferences, congresses and concerts. Among the last institutional exhibitions, is its participation in the 58th Venice Biennale with the Guatemala pavilion, the Dominican Republic pavilion and the Grenada pavilion. ITSLIQUID Group already had the pleasure to hold some festivals and exhibitions in Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, such as MORPHOS Festival and FUTURE IDENTITIES Festival, both in 2014.
