Tell People About It
Now that the work is finished, it’s time to share it!
- Upload the image to your website. Double check to make sure that your name and credit line is visible whenever the image is enlarged.
- Blog about it or include it in your newsletter. Writing about it while it’s fresh is essential. Share details about the piece, including the inspiration, process, and meaning behind it. Your blog and newsletter are virtual real estate that you own and should be the first places you share.
- Edit the text from your blog or newsletter into a descriptive sentence. This concise sentence can be used for your website, social media, and included in your inventory database so that it’s always with the work.
- Upload the image to any online sales platforms. Post it to Etsy, RedBubble, Saatchi Art and similar.
- Promote on social media. Share your artwork on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and TikTok. Repurpose the writing you did for your newsletter or blog.
PRO TIP: Wherever you share it, ensure the complete credit line (©your name, title, medium, size) is included.
There are, of course, additional steps to take if the work is a commission or headed to an exhibition, but this list should cover the basics.
