I was born in Los Angeles in 1959. I was lucky enough to have a mother that allowed my creativity to flourish. I’ve been a creator since my earliest memories.

I have experimented with most art media throughout the years, working mostly in clay today. I went to California College of the Arts, in Oakland CA. Then I moved to San Diego, and lived there for many years.

I now live in Hawaii, work out of my oceanfront studio, and am lucky enough to have Molokai Art Center as my second home. I am inspired by the earth, the sea and rhythms of life in various cultures, deeply informing my artistic expressions.

My finely detailed and textured ceramics are typically functional sculptures. I tend to incorporate traditional and unconventional techniques throughout my work.

My ceramics are suggestions of the possibilities of another world. The sea. Of what could, might be happening in the ocean. Another world remains, mostly unseen by people.

These works are my interpretation of what their world is like. I like to think I’m crafting little underwater habitats. Places for the weary, wet traveler to stop, eat, drink, and get some shuteye, so they can continue on their journey, fresh and well rested.
