My influences are Phillip Guston, Manabu Mabe (as well as other Japanese abstract artists) and Jean Michele Basquiat. I often find inspiration in the lyrics of Tom Waits.

Retirement after 40 years of nursing has allowed me to finally focus full-time on my artwork. I made art all through my working life and never considered it a hobby or a side hustle.

Art for me has been a sanctuary as a child, a refuge from a stressful job and catharsis following serious illness.
