Alba Fabre has painted a Blanes beach scene on the former Els Pins sports pavilion in Catalonia. Bathers and parasols fill the mural, with the silhouette of Sa Palomera on the horizon. The wall faces Avinguda Josep Tarradellas and the sea, placing Fabre’s painted shoreline close to the landscape it depicts.
Fabre made the mural for COMMUN, a project led by Barcelona-based urban art centre B-Murals with the support of Blanes Town Council. In her account of the work, she thanked the team and the people who stopped to see the mural as they returned from the beach. That passing audience is part of the work’s immediate setting: the beachgoers in the painting meet beachgoers on the street.
The mural was completed in July 2026, according to the town council. It also precedes the fourth Blanes Urban Fest, scheduled for October. For now, it is a familiar local view carried onto a municipal wall: the beach, its visitors and the rock that marks Blanes’s coastline.
