Artsy Shark publishes portfolio articles that highlight the talents and the work of amazing artists from around the world. More than 1,900 artists have been featured since 2010.
Artists are selected through a competitive process that happens only three times per year. Our current Call for Artists is now open. Submissions are being accepted until midnight on July 7, 2022.
Artists and makers in all mediums are encouraged to apply. These include: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, clay, fiber, digital art, collage, glass, wood, printmaking, metal and others.
Each article presents an individual artist, sharing a collection from their portfolio and telling their story in their own words. The artist describes their background, technique, inspiration, and accomplishments. A link at the top of the feature sends readers to the artist’s website. This increases opportunities to sell art, gather email addresses of interested visitors, and gain a following.
Featured artists are promoted to our extensive social media following and email list. These articles remain permanently on our site and can be accessed by visiting our Featured Artist Gallery.
Artists who submit an application are entered into a competitive jury process. Not all artists will be selected. An application fee of $25 applies. The jurying process involves a thorough review of each application and artist website or other online presence. Notification of results will be sent within three weeks of the submission deadline.
Every featured artist also receives a customized “magazine style” version of their feature in PDF format as a bonus to use as marketing collateral. See a sample PDF here
Artsy Shark receives no fees or commissions whatsoever for any sales or contracts that result from being featured.
